A functional instance of most of the custom apps I’ve built is at:
NOTE: I serve a self-signed security certificate
DNS is with GoDaddy. The web server is Apache2. It runs on my old MacBook. Apache interfaces with Python using WSGI to form the backbone of the backend. Interestingly (to some), you don’t need the Python module in Apache to run this setup; WSGI is sufficient.
The Django library runs virtually. MySQL serves database needs and the API comes from Django REST Framework. I originally serialized my own models, but recently discovered the REST framework and now depend on it heavily.
AngularJS forms the front end and I like it for async data binding between the browser and database. The responsive design is a slightly custom Pure CSS template. Occasionally, some ports on this server connect to real life Arduino machines.
